PRODUCT DEVELOPER ASSISTANT - APPAREL
We’re looking for a structured, proactive, and technically skilled Product Developer Assistant to join our Apparel Team in Åre. In this role, you’ll support the full development cycle of technical outdoor garments — from early prototype stages to final production handover.
You will play a key role in maintaining accuracy, timelines, and product quality across styles, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and factories. This is a hands-on development role, ideal for someone who is detail-focused, solution-driven, and motivated by turning ideas into fully functional garments.
Your responsibilities will include:
As part of the Klättermusen Product Development team, you will support product developers across outerwear, mid-layers, base layers, and technical apparel. Responsibilities include:
- Building and tracking style documentation throughout development stages
- Preparing and updating tech packs, measurement charts, and construction details
- Managing BOMs (Bill of Materials), fabric sheets, trim lists, and spec accuracy
- Coordinating prototype requests and tracking samples across suppliers
- Reviewing samples for construction, fit, functionality, and quality issues
- Supporting fit sessions: measuring, logging comments, and documenting changes
- Communicating with suppliers regarding timelines, proto comments, and improvements
- Supporting testing processes (lab testing, field testing, material performance tracking)
- Assisting with seasonal material updates and product data uploads in PLM
- Helping prepare final documentation for production and bulk handover
You will report directly to the Senior product developer and collaborate daily with Product Developers, Material Specialists, and the Design and Hardware teams.
The experience you’ll bring to the role is:
- A degree in Apparel/Product Development, Textile Engineering, or relevant field
- Understanding of garment construction, pattern basics, and fit evaluation
- Good skills in Adobe Illustrator for technical drawings and spec updates
- Experience working with PLM or product tracking systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines at once
- Accuracy with data, measurements, and documentation (you enjoy getting details right)
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with international suppliers
- Interest in functional, technical outdoor apparel and performance materials
- A curious, hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Outdoor interest is a strong plus — we test what we build
